The Officers of the Chapter are opening this Officer’s meeting to members interested in helping the Chapter grow. We are looking for people that are willing to help on committees and/or who would like to lead a ride or know a new ride destination that would make a good day or overnight outing for the Chapter. We are still looking for someone who is interested in being a Lead Activity Officer. This person would lead a committee of people who will help create activities for the Chapter. If you are interested, please attend this meeting. It takes many willing and dedicated members to make a successful Chapter.

GRHOG will once again be taking to the lanes!Spectrum Lanes 5656 Clyde Park Wyoming, MI

1:00 p.m. check-in, bowling begins at 1:30p.m.! Four-person teams will be chosen at random.

Cost is $16 per person, includes shoes, 3 games of bowling and unlimited pizza and pop.

2012 Pool Challenge.

As most of you know, this is how we, as the HOG Chapter, get started raising money for

our fund raiser for the vets. It is also a great way to get to know one another. We have had

so much fun in previous years. We were asked to start it earlier this year. I would like to see

this year be the biggest group of friends ever! Come check it out! Bring some friends or family with

you. This is open to everyone. We will also have two shuffle boards tables ready for whom ever wants to play.

We are going to kick this off on Tuesday, January 10th. Sign ups start around 6:30pm, and we will start play pool at 7:00pm.

The cost is $5.00 per person to play. That's cheap entertainment!!!! And the money goes to a great cause.

The event is at the Our Tavern, 1219 Hamilton St. Grand Rapids. It is two streets west of 131 and north

off of Leonard street. Map

Moving in a new direction

I have served GRHOG as your Chaplain for the past 5 years, during which you shared much of your lives with me. It has been my pleasure to minister to you during hurting times through hospital visits, home visits and sending cards of encouragement. I have had many of you request personal prayer, and have been asked to offer prayer at our major events. Thank you for trusting me to that honor. It has been my pleasure to meet a lot of new people and riding companions through GRHOG.

With each new administration there comes change which is good - no – GREAT!!, because as new ideas come into the chapter, we will not become stagnant. GRHOG is as strong as it was when I joined almost ten years ago, and I expect it to continue to improve as new officers and new members bring new ideas to the floor. It’s like when Harley Davidson introduced the new anti-lock brakes, many of us thought “what a stupid idea”, but we quickly learned without them we were the stupid one.

At the close of 2011 I will be closing my role as your Chaplain of GRHOG, as I will be moving in a new direction. It has been MY pleasure to be a part of GRHOG! Thank you for your friendship and your trust.

Ride to Michigan State HOG Rally

When: Thursday Aug. 25, 2011

Leaving From: Meijer Gas Station on 10 Mile, Rockford

Time: 9:00 AM, Kickstands up 9:30 AM

We will stop in Lake City or lunch and arrive at the rally site ( Boyne Mtn. ) around 2.30 PM

GRHOG Rally Ride, Friday, August 26

This ride is to get chapter members together to meet each other and have some fun. We hope all those attending will participate and contribute to our time together.

Jerry Kibbe will be leading the ride starting from the front of the Mountain Lodge parking lot. Right near the entrane to the Lodge. Registration starts at 9:30 am and kickstands up at 10:00 am. As in the past, when you register you'll get a ticket which will be used for the drawing of the prizes. No tickets will be issued at Legg's Inn. The object is to get everyone together for a ride and lunch.

After riding through the beautiful N. Michigan countryside we'll stopping for lunch at Legg's Inn at Cross Village. An area will be set aside for GRHOG. After lunch and prizes you can enjoy the day with whomever you hook-up with and make your own memories. We hope to see you there!

LOH Ladies Weekend

Friday - Arrive at your leisure. Rooms will be available by 3pm and dinner will be on your own. We will be hanging out in the activity/meeting room all evening. Important note...NO RED WINE allowed! Please bring your favorite games or movies.

Saturday - Breakfast is complimentary with your hotel stay. Our bus will pick us up at 10am for a fun filled wine tasting tour of the Leelanau Peninsula. There will be 3 wineries that we are stopping at. Tasting is $5 per person at each winery. The bus will be $25 per person payable to Kris Middleton by Sept 20. Our bus will return to the hotel by 2pm, then we will head downtown for lunch and shopping!

Saturday evening we are going to have a pizza party and motorcycle swap meet...LOH style!! Pizza will be delivered around 8pm. Please bring anything "motorcycle" related that you would like to sell or trade. Do you have used clothing, riding gear, jewelry, crafts that you would like to sell? Price it and bring it along!

Sunday - Continental breakfast at the hotel then home on your own. Check out is at 11am.

Ladies Choice Ryde to Chelsea , MI. The ryde is hosted by the GRHOG Ladies and all GRHOG members are invited. Calling all GRHOG members! Ladies Choice Ryde 08-20-11 Saturday. Either meet at the dealership to meet Jim & Beth N. for kickstands UP at 8:15 am to ryde to meet others at 68th and the Beltline (West side of the street –gas station). OR….meet at 68th and the Beltline at 8:45 for kickstands UP at 9:00 am. Entire group Ryde LEAVES at 9:00 am to go to Chelsea, MI (near Ann Arbor). LOH Bike Weekend

LOH Overnight Ann Arbor Ride and Art Fair weekend is coming up fast! Have you made your reservation yet? What are you waiting for?!!!!

Rooms are blocked until June 17...this coming Saturday...under the name Grand Rapids LOH. We are staying at the Comfort Inn & Suite University South at 3501 South State Street, Ann Arbor. 734-761-8838. Rate is $107.99 (2 queen beds). There have been 8 rooms reserved as of tonight with 2 left on our reserved block. If more rooms are needed, they will be added but please call this week to guarantee availability. Cancellations can be made 24 hrs prior to arrival if you need to back out at the last minute.

This weekend is for all LOH members! If you don't ride, please plan to carpool with someone. Also, incase of inclement weather, we will be carpooling.

Ride leaves 68th Ave and Broadmoor in Caledonia at 8:00am on Saturday, July 23. This will be approx 150 miles of 2 lane highway and backroads from Caledonia to Ann Arbor. We will make a couple comfort stops along the way and arrive at our motel around noon. There will be shuttle buses for the Art Fair nearby as well as the Briarwood Mall.

Ladies ~ Please join us Saturday, May 7th for our annual Lipstick Ride.

Sue Foose and Kris Blough are going to lead us on an approx. 1.5 hour ride to Saugatuck for lunch and fun.

Leaving GRHD at 10:30am and arriving in Saugatuck at approx 12 - 12:15pm.
Lunch at The Butler. If you are planning to meet us there, we will have a 12:30pm reservation at The Butler.
Shopping and fun in downtown Saugatuck after lunch.
